The Bahrain Athletics Association has announced the recommendation of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee to chair the board of directors of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), for the new electoral cycle.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of West Asian Athletics Federation, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, affirmed that HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, led the Bahrain Olympic Committee to a new era of achievements and gains during the previous two terms, and in this period the sports movement saw an unprecedented breakthrough in achieving various achievements from different sports teams, winning many awards and decorations in the field of administrative work, which made the Bahrain Olympic Committee into one of the best Olympic committees in the world.
His Highness said: “HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has had clear marks in improving the sports sector and improving the sports federations’ level since he assumed the presidency of the BOC. The committee has lived its best days thanks to His Highness’ support to the Olympic Movement and the federations, which resulted in many achievements, the most recent being the gold and silver medal achieved by the Kingdom at the Olympic Games hosted by the city of Rio de Janeiro (Rio 2016), and Bahrain achieving first place in the Arab world .. ”
