The Organizing Committee of the fifth Khalid Bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centers, People with Disabilities and Girls, adopted a mascot for the league that is being held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, Honourary President of the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation (BDSF), from July 24 to August 23, under the slogan #meeting_of_generations. The league comes as part of the generous initiatives of his Highness in supporting the youth in sports and humanitarian field, organized by the Ministry of youth Affairs and Sports in cooperation with Media Office of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The Committee approved the adoption “Nabil” as the name of the mascot for the league, which was painted by the Bahraini artist Turki Rashid. The character is based on the best player in the category of people with disabilities in the fourth edition of Khalid Bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centers, People with Disabilities 2016, as Nabil Al Dossari was chosen as the best player. The league will be held this year in BDSF Hall.
The organizing committee selected the name from the category of people with disabilities, which adds a distinctive humanitarian aspect to the competition, going in line with the directives of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
It is worth mentioning that this year’s edition will see the participation of 36 youth centers out of the 36 official centers representing different cities and villages of the Kingdom of Bahrain, adding more success to the league after last year’s participate which had 32 youth center.
The Organizing Committee has set June 20, as the final day to receive the list of players from the participating teams, as Committee will provide uniforms for all participating teams, as well as alternative colour uniforms in case of similarity in colors.
