The Organizing Committee of the Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centers, People with Disabilities and Girls, held its second technical meeting yesterday (Tuesday), at the headquarters of the Bahrain Football Association in Riffa.
The meeting was directed by media colleague Hazem Al Shaikh and the speakers included: Ali Al Arabi, President of the league; Ali Saeed, Head of the Technical Committee; Jassim Mahmoud, Head of the Referees Committee; and Abdulrahman Abdulqadir, Asian Futsal Referees Appraiser. Also present were representatives of participating teams.
The league is held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Honourary President of the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs in cooperation with the Media Office of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ali Al Arabi, the President of the League welcomed all participating teams.
He pointed out that the meeting is the second meeting the Organizing Committee; with the aim of discussing the details regarding the start of the league which kicks-off almost a month from now.
He pointed out that the competitions are of high interest with keen interest from the organizers, especially as it is part of a series of initiatives launched by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Al Arabi stressed that the conference is an opportunity to learn about the rules and regulations of Futsal.
Explanation of regulations
For his part, Ali Saeed, Head of the Technical Committee, stressed that the large presence in the meeting confirmed the success of the event.
Mr. Saeed announced July 15 as the date set for the league’s draw and pointed out that the final date to deliver the statements of the players from the participating teams in the league was June 28, 2017.
Praising the league
Jassim Mahmoud, Head of the Referees Committee, and President of Referees in the Bahrain Football Association, praised the name of league which has the kind sponsorship by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
He pointed out that referee ruling is an important element for the success of the league, noting that the cooperation of all teams with the rules of the sport will contribute to the success of the event.
He pointed out that all the referees in the league games are distinguished referees and will do their best to make the league a success.
Reviewing the rules
Abdulrahman Abdulqadir, Asian Futsal Referees Appraiser, Former International Futsal Referee, gave a detailed of Futsal rules. He also answered all the questions of the teams’ representatives on the technical aspects of Futsal ruling.
It is noteworthy that the Committee adopted the character of “Nabil” as the name of the character for the league, which was painted by the Bahraini artist Turki Rashid. The character is based on the best player in the category of people with disabilities in the fourth edition of Khalid Bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centers, People with Disabilities 2016, as Nabil Al Dossari was chosen as the best player.
The league will be held this year at the Khalifa Sports City Hall. This year’s edition will witness the participation of 36 youth centers out of 36 official centers representing the various cities and villages of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The large and wide participation is continuation of last year’s success which had 23 youth centers participating. In addition, 8 People with disabilities teams will participate and 6 girls teams.
