It is my pleasure to congratulate Brigadier-General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Guard, on this occasion, through which we recall the days we have lived together, full of sincerity, dedication and sacrifice towards our homeland, Arabism and our Islamic religion.
Since Brigadier-General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa took command over the leadership of the Royal Guard, the Royal Guard has been steadily moving towards accomplishing achievements that accompany the blessed march of Bahrain Defence Force, which was established by our commander, HM The King.
From the start, we realized that receiving the leadership of the Royal Guard would be an honourable and grand responsibility for our country and HM The King. We had to work with all the members of the Royal Guard Special Unit as a team, and we strengthened the patriotism in them, allegiance, and self-sacrifice to defend the homeland. To strive to be partners with our brothers in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to uphold the word of truth and preserve our common destiny.
In this regard, I would like to express my pride and gratitude to all the officers and members of the Royal Guard Special Forces, who during this period have been able to fulfil their duty with us in achieving the goals and aspirations we have set for upgrading combat capabilities and to be prepared to participate in various courses training sessions and operations, especially the war in Yemen and rescuing refugees in the Mediterranean Sea with the British Royal Navy.
The strength of the Royal Guard has been exemplified by its outstanding efforts and dedication in all military courses and operations, as well with the sacrifices of its courageous men, especially their participation in the “Decisive Storm” and “Restoring Hope” operations in the sisterly Republic of Yemen. We are here to remember the souls of our martyrs who fulfilled the holy duty, namely: Warrant Officer Mohamed Nabil Hamad, Sergeant Major Mohamed Hafid Younis, Sergeant Major Hassan Iqbal Mohammed and Sergeant Major Abdulmunaem Ali Hussain, who fulfilled their pledge to God as they were the best example of sacrifice and dedication in defending their homeland and religion.
The Royal Guard Special Forces unit has been keen to work on strengthen the fruitful cooperation with the Special Forces of the United Arab Emirates, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United States of America, the United Kingdom and the Republic of France through joint training and combat courses that enhance the combat capability of officers and personnel, which reflect on their preparation and readiness to perform tasks to the fullest.
We applaud this fruitful cooperation, which has greatly contributed to the goals we have set and have enhanced the efficiency of the Royal Guard Special Forces members. We also emphasize on the continuation and development of these relations, as we wish to be side by side in the fields of combat, as we did with the UAE Special Forces in Yemen.
Today, we meet with you on the anniversary of the Royal Guard Special Force establishment after ten years of successes and achievements, since its establishment by Brigadier-General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in 2007, we have taken over its duties in 2011 to complete the giving process. We take the opportunity to build together the Military Museum with the participation of the Royal Guards Special Forces in the “Decisive Storm” and “Restoring Hope” operations in the brotherly Yemen and the (Sophia) operation in the European Union to rescue refugees in the Mediterranean Sea, to showcase the efficiency and heroism of its members in this holy duty.
In conclusion, we call upon Almighty God to bless our martyrs with His mercy, to grant them all the patience and strength to carry out our duty towards our religion, our homeland and our King, saluting them with a sincere prayer to the Almighty God, to protect Bahrain from the hatred of the malevolent and schemers and to keep us safe and secure under His Majesty the King, May God Protect Him.
