تحت رعاية سمو الشيخ خالد بن حمد آل خليفة النائب الأول لرئيس المجلس الأعلى للشباب والرياضة رئيس الاتحاد البحريني لألعاب القوى، تختتم اليوم في الصالة رقم “2” بمركز البحرين الدولي للمعارض فعاليات النسخة السابعة من أولمبياد الروبوتات العالمي والتي تأتي ضمن #مبادرات_خالد_بن_حمد_العلمية، والتي تنظمه مدرسة AMA الدولية بالتعاون مع وزارة التربية والتعليم.
وسيشهد اليوم الختامي إقامة المنافسات الرئيسية التي ستشتمل على تقديم ابتكارات الطلبة والطالبات المشاركين في هذا الحدث العلمي، هي عبارة عن روبوتات متحركة تقوم بعدة مهمات يحددها الفريق الذي يقدم ابتكاره للجنة التحكيم، والتي ستتخذ قرارها باعتماد الابتكار الفائز بالمركز الأول والذي سيتأهل لأولمبياد العالم للروبوتات المقرر إقامته بكوستاريكا.
وكانت الفعالية قد انطلقت يوم أمس الأول بمشاركة أكثر من 100 مدرسة من مدارس الحكومية والخاصة، حيث شهد اليوم الأول اعتماد التسجيل الرسمي للفرق وتقديم التجارب المشاركة ولقاء لجنة التحكيم.

من جانبها، قالت مديرة مدرسة AMA الدولية السيدة ماريتا سي كات : “بداية أوجه شكري وتقديري وعظيم امتناني لسمو الشيخ خالد بن حمد آل خليفة على رعاية ودعم سموه لأولمبياد الروبوتات العالمي، والذي يعد واحدا من المبادرات العلمية التي أطلقها سموه، والذي يلقى نجاحا متواصلا في كل عام، بفضل ازدياد عدد المشاركين من المدارس الحكومية والخاصة، والذي يسهم في دفع الطلبة والطالبات إلى الابتكار العلمي، الذي يسهم في دفع عجلة التقدم في الحركة التعليمية بمملكة البحرين”.
وأضافت: “ومما لاشك فيه، أن سموه كان سباقا في أن يكون أحد المخترعين البحرينيين خلال برنامج التخرج من المرحلة الثانوية من مدرسة ابن خلدون، بعد أن قدم سموه اختراعه وهو عباره عن سيارة. ومنذ ذلك الحين وسموه يدفع الشباب البحريني على مختلف المراحل الدراسية في المدارس الحكومية والخاصة لهذا الاتجاه، والذي يمنحهم الفرصة لإطلاق إبداعاتهم وابتكاراتهم، بما يساهم في اتساع إدراكهم العلمي من خلال التعرف على مبادئ العلوم الحديثة في هذه الأنشطة التعليمية المرتبطة بالعلوم والتكنولوجيا، والذي يساعدهم على تنمية المهارات وبناء القدرات واكتساب المعارف الجديدة ذات صلة بتطوير التعليم”، مشيرة إلى أن النسخة الحالية شهدت إقبالا كبيرا في عدد المشاركة والتي ستسهم في ظهور مواهب لديها القدرة على الابتكار والاختراع، بما يؤثر إيجابا مخرجات التعليم بالمملكة ويساهم في تخريج جيل من الطلبة والطالبات القادرين على الإبداع والمشاركة في العطاء والبناء والتنمية في هذا الوطن الغالي”.Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, the seventh edition of the World Robot Olympiad is to be concluded in Hall 2 of the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, organised by AMA International School in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.
The final day will witness the main competitions in which participating students will present their inventions at this scientific event. These are mobile robots that perform several tasks set by the team and presented before the judging panel, which will decide on adopting the first-place winning invention that will qualify for the World Robotics Olympiad, to be held in Costa Rica.
The event was launched yesterday with the participation of over 100 government and private schools. The first day witnessed the adoption of the official team registration and the presentation of the participants’ experiences and meeting of the jury.

For her part, Principal of AMA International School Director, Ms. Marietta S. Sicat said, “Firstly, I direct my gratitude to His Highness Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his patronage and support of the World Robot Olympiad, which is one of the scientific initiatives launched by His Highness and met by success every year, thanks to the increasing number of participants from public and private schools, which drives students towards scientific innovation, which contributes to the advancement of the educational movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
She added, “It is doubtless that His Highness was at the forefront of the Bahraini inventors during the graduation program of Ibn Khuldoon National School, after His Highness presented his invention which was a car. Since then, His Highness has pushed Bahraini youth from different school stages in public and private schools in this direction, giving them the opportunity to launch their creations and inventions. This contributes to the expansion of their scientific awareness by recognising the principles of modern science in these educational activities related to science and technology. This helps them to develop skills, build capacity and acquire new knowledge which develops education.” She pointed out that the current edition has witnessed a great turnout in the number of participants, which will contribute to bring out talents with the ability to create and innovate, positively affecting the outputs of education in the Kingdom. This will contribute to the graduation of a generation of students who are capable of innovation and participation in the advancement and development of this precious nation.”
